February 24, 2014 - White-winged Fairywren (Malurus leucopterus)
The White-winged Fairywren is native to most of Central Australia. Some males develop bright blue plumage during breeding season. Younger birds, usually of the same family group, assist with the care of chicks.

A follower just alerted me to the existence of this blog and I’m so glad they did! This is one of the cutest and most informative little bird blogs I’ve ever seen and the art is so amazing! It’s a pretty new blog, from the looks of it, but I can tell it’s going places. Each illustration is cuter than the next- definitely worth a look and a follow! :)
